Overall, I believe this project was a good idea and I enjoyed it. I like how we slowly learned about one certain culture and presented what we learned in various different ways. We didn't have to write long informational essays about our culture either, and instead did things like the scrapbook or brochure, which I really liked. The only thing I disliked is that we did not get to pick out cultures ourselves. This resulted in sometimes not being as interested in projects as to if we genuinely wanted to learn about it. In the future, I think during class there should be more clarification of each project although. As I recall, before every project, my fellow classmates and I would be asking each other questions about it and there was something we didn't understand in the rubric. Learning about my culture and everyone else's has been interesting though, and I think it was a good project to do.
I'm almost done with this site and would like to know if there needs to be any improvements or not. Please let me know if something isn't showing up, a link isn't working, etc. Also let me know if there's anything you like specifically! Thank you!
From the past months, I've learned a lot about ancient Macedonia. If I was actually alive during this time though, I don't think I would want to live in this area. I imagine that when other civilizations got conquered it was very harsh and scary. If I was living in somewhere like Pella, I imagine a similar area town centers in the same area, but of course more commercialized. Other than the art, I don't think there is much that sticks out than other things. Also, I feel like if I knew technology, like we have now, existed in the future, I would be somewhat typical and want to be able to access internet at some points. Overall, I don't think I would want to live in this area, though it is somewhat interesting.
Here I presented a video of John Green speaking of Alexander the Great. He spoke of three different definitions of the word great, from his point of view. My question is, do you think he deserves to be called "great?" Why or why not? Comment below!
Told from a time travelers POV:
Today I traveled back to ancient Macedonia. I visited Pella and traveled around. I saw amazingly beautiful and colorful mosaics all over. They covered buildings, walls and even floors. Then there were animal fights, and animals like lions and deers being hunted. |
